These old cars were such road warriors. Almost nothing could cause them to break down on the side of the road. And if they did break down, they could be easily fixed with a little mechanic knowledge. there was a dark green Checker Aerobus that lived at various different repair shops in the area for at least a couple decades where I live. first it sat in front of a Land Rover shop, then it moved to a Champion Spring.
Both shops were torn down in the name of "progress," and I have no idea where the Checker ended up. I bet it had an interesting life before it became a static display.
