Not much has more character than a beat up old pickup truck. Srsly, I get a warm fuzzy feeling when I see old pickups. And the new stuff just doesn't have the same character.
I never liked the third generation full-size Chevrolet pick ups 1973-1987. I do like the close-ups on picture number three, and four. I have to admit when his truck was brand new this two-tone green probably looked pretty nice

The spring green/white two tone is the best color option that GM ever offered. I will admit that I am a bit biased as my grandfather bought a 76 Custom Deluxe 10 new, we lost him to cancer way to soon in 80, dad drove it until 95, and I ended the 90s in it. You weren't gonna win any races, it didn't have AC, but floor vents, slider in the back and the triangle (smoker) windows, you didn't need it, and it took a lot of gas to get anywhere, even with a straight 6, 250, 1 barrel. Seeing pics like this takes me back to when I first had a license and I thought a 20 year old Chevy was a Rolls Royce, shit, I'd still take the Chevy today.
