this is one of those cars that went "like hell" until one day it didn't anymore.
whether that was due to the mopar-level reliability vs. the driver's intent or the fact that the performance was adequate for its time, and then times changed is up for debate.
These were great cars, especially with the 2.2 turbo II. The Turbo III Iron R/T were awesome. if you break the 2.2 or american 2.5 motor then you truly suck because they are non-interference motors that are virtually bullet proof and the block can handle over 500HP
My parents had a 1985 White Dodge Daytona Turbo Z,and kids in school loved it..Digital dash etc...They had that car until 2001 !! It had 298,000 Miles..1 headgasket and a rebuilt Turbo is all it needed, besides a timing belt every 100,000 miles as it needed...Yes,it had a new radiator, waterpump,cv joints, struts but was all original until 130,000 miles (besides head gasket at 100,000) Was garages and looked mint when they sold it..I even had a couple used ones in the 90's...Now,I wish I would have kept it,have room now but then nope..It did go to a good home,he still has it and is restored and better than new..meaning show quality paint, rebuilt and build 275 hp 2.2 turbo etc..

Very nice. Looks more interesting with the lights raised are directly above the turn signals & fog lamps.
Hmm. Might be some interesting cars by the pink house next door.

Love the front shot with the pop up headlights stuck up.
