CMC Gazelle.
Say what you will about this gussied-up Pinto or Beetle, but you can't dismiss the very real effect it has on people who know nothing about cars. In the five minutes I spent trying to photograph it, the thing elicited non-stop compliments and dozens of F-bombs. I don't really care what year it is, but man, I wish I'd recorded the audio: "It's a 1927 Mercedes-Benz," the owner told me. "Yeah bro," one neighborhood local said, "before the 1980s, Mercedes were called Gazelles. Trust me, bro — cars are my thing."

I'm surprised he didn't tell them it was Göring's old 540K...
Only a story like that could happen on N. Killingsworth!
I would tell them it's a Ford Granada it only looks like a Mercedes!
Odd how something built to be Retro is now retro itself....like how people are now nostalgic about the show "Happy Days"
quik-e-mart tag added.
Yup, that's a kit car based on a Pinto/Beetle chassis if I've ever seen one.
I suppose they also wanted you to know that they used to make Mercedes in Miami Florida, and that they had 1980s Jensen cassette decks installed in 1927.
