America's best selling car in the mid 70's and it's easy to see why. The Colonnade's still don't get the love they deserve in car collector circles, not really sure why that is. Ah well, more for me ;)
Could have any of a number of Rocket V-8 motors, 260, 350, or a big honking 455. Make mine a 455, please...
I know what you're saying about the Colonnade's not being appreciated & I think I know why, people tend to love the pillarless hard tops especially the previous generation 1968-72. The colonnade (In my opinion) was an example of the beginning of the end of the American car. Government rules and regulations on engines, convertibles and pillarless hardtop's. I have to admit though I do prefer the colonnade over the smaller landau window which you could find on a Cutlass supreme. I like this particular car, it's sharp looking with the waterfall grill and the colonnade window. In its day this 76'Oldsmobile Cutlass S basically was a nice modest car. Now that I think about it the grill is damn awesome, and would of gone well with a T-Top and believe it or not if they offered that for the station wagon model along with the "Cutlass supreme station wagon the company possibly would've sold a lot more wagons for that year. I remember seeing a lot of these cars (73-77 GM midsize models) in the past. The station wagon were pretty popular from what I remember. I think these cars started disappearing from my area in the early 90s. I also want to add I love that pink house seen in pictures two and three. Speaking of my area that house unfortunately would be considered a "knock down" since the property is worth more than the house. It's a shame what's going on inside and outside of NYC.
Is that car available for sale? I'd luv to have a chat with the owner and make an offer on it! :) How can I get a hold of 'Ben Piff' here (or whomever took these pics? - Thanks, Brad
This is someone's daily driver, it's safe to assume nothing is for sale on this site unless it's stated (eg. has a "FOR SALE" sign in one of the windows or Tony or Ben say so)
Sure that's a given! But this one does not look like "a daily driver." When you have an opportunity to speak with the owner of such classic car and ask questions with an offer in hand, you'd be surprised how quickly a car suddently becomes available for sale (and sold)! :) It never hurts to ask for contact info etc. and that's all I was asking about for the sake of furthering the classic car hobby! :)
My dad had one of these in '79. I was 4-years old. I remember getting out of the car every time dad and I went somewhere and just walking away, leaving the door wide open...the door was much too big and heavy for me to close. Dad took that honor without a hint of a huff. It had the same hubcaps, white wall tires and it was this color too. "Effing" awesome!
I remember back in 1976 ordering my brand new 76 white cutlass S colonnade/coupe. I had a V-8 455 The interior was green with white swivel bucket seats power windows power locks the whole shebang! I loved that car! For the past two years I’ve been searching the Internet hoping that I could find it.

i have NEVER seen that grille before. amazing find.
surprised to see the washington plates. that definitely looks like portland.
great neighborhood, houses, landscaping, clouds, sky.
Love that front clip, shame it wasn't too common on the later Colonnade Cutlasses.
