One thing I remember about this old model of Mercedes was the ability to turn on a dime. Great looking automobile.

Finally! A car I've owned (or similar).Bought a 220A Ponton 3 years ago for $500. It was in surprisingly good shape sans the floors and came with a ton of extra parts. Sold the extras for around a grand, then futzed with the car for a while. Got the little 6 running smoothly enough to drive it. The previous owner unfortunately never came up with the title and stopped answering my calls. Didn't want to pay the extra for a title service, so sold it to a pilot down in Miami...regretted it the minute it left. Oh Well

These are terrific photographs. Very evocative. The background, the fog, the landscaping, the color of the Mercedes, the angles, the profile shot.

Really killer.

Holy ka-rap. That's the time of day to shoot that car. But then again, what car wouldn't feature well in that London Fog? Great to see one in black, with all that trim in tact.

This is one of the very best posts of this blog, like ever, and I've been following this since 2010.

Way to go guyz!

(I'd be disappointed if they owner didn't look like Max von Sydow in Needful Things)

This thing looks absolutely sinister! Can you say "Stasi?"...I knew you could! Reminds me
of those old Cold War films that feature the Secret Police chasing the hero here, there, every-
where. Wonder if the guy that owns it works for the Whitehouse!

The parents of a friend of mine in grade school owned a 220s Cabriolet that was in
near-mint condition. I took great delight in catching a ride home from school with him
whenever I could. These cars rode great and seemed to last forever. Couldn't imagine
what it was like to drive a 4-speed on the column though. To see this version, go to:
