good grief, what a cream puff. those hood lights are a truly alien touch, and the two-tone and pinstripe are unexpectedly stylish.
i feel obligated to recommend this as a best-of-2013, although if someone has gone to the trouble of importing it since the advent of BaT, i'm less inclined.
i'll resist the temptation to google "renault encore bringatrailer."
were the euro cars built by amc? is it possible that this car crossed the atlantic twice? hilarious.
I think the current owner recently bought it from the original owner (at about 50k miles), who was pretty enthusiastic about it. For example, the two tone paint is custom, as are those round decals he had made.
He's now putting 200 miles a day on it and loving the obscenely good mileage. He says, "it's definitely a driver's car".
The only thing he wishes he could do would be to find a 5 speed conversion for it. I hope he comments on here, because he's one of the most enthusiastic owners of an OPC that I can remember meeting.
I had one of these, basically loved it. It had the marked distinction of being the only car used in a James Bond flick that I actually owned. Admittedly, it's a bit of a comic appearance from the Roger Moore era, but there it was.

You thought right! Cleanest one I've seen in a while. Close to perfect, those lights on the hood should go in my opinion.
There was a guy on Retrorides who put a lot of effort into restoring an Encore.
After years of trying, I think he finally gave up on the fuel injection/engine management system that seemed to be flawed to begin with.
"RightCar"....obvious spammer.
Insanely clean Encore. Love the two tone with red pinstripes.
the hood lights are probably for the snow plow, an unpopular option chez renault.
