I'd like to know where the owner gets the tires from. those things look like rubber bands compared to standard tires of today. I do love this car the 2cv will forever be one of my french favorites. the suspension on these are very cool and is a system I have yet to see on another car except for one derived from the 2cv. these things gotta be fun to drive
Hey Ben, In september 1984, Citroën modified the color scheme of the Charleston. So from 1980 to 1984, the body itself is painted red and black. After that, the body is totally black and so are the rear panel and the windshield frame. Before that only sides were black so these 2 parts were red as well. The only red part on the body (between front door and front fender) is then a sticker. Way cheaper and simpler to do. It makes the 1984-1990 2 CV Charleston easy to notice. So this one is a model from this period. I also think it is a car from Germany judging by the plastic cover on the corner of the front bumper. I do hope my english is good enough for you to understand. I like very much your blog !

Looks more like 1881 than 1981.
Ultimate hipstermobile.
It can't be from 1981. It is a post 1984 version for sure.
Thanks Étienne, your expertise is always appreciated! How can you tell them apart?
The DS ans GSs are still there, in their all of their rusty glory.

This is the 1980 limited edition (red headlights, "pied de poule" interior) :

Then the 1981-1984 (shniy headlights, grey interior):

And then the last model with black rear panel and windshield frame. The layout is a bit different, more simple.
