Why did you just label the model and not the make also?

@ joey, this is just an Avanti. by the year this one was made it was not a Studebaker anymore, it was just called the Avanti. the original body design might be Studebaker but by 1984 Studebaker did not exist and the body and rights to the car were sold to two Indiana Studebaker dealers. they combined and created the Avanti motor company in 1965. they sold it with a list of performance options and engines and sold the car as the Avanti II. they manufactured it until 1982, then the Avanti motor company was sold to a man named Stephen H. Blake and he made a few changes from the original, like the square headlights and the plastic body color bumpers that you see on this example. there was a few other owners of the company and the final one made to date was in 2007. so the model and the name are one in the same on this one being it's technically considered a replica.

I grew up in the 70s and 80s in South Bend where these were made -- and even then, they were not a common sight on the road.

This gorgeous design deserved to live on after Studebaker had gone.

This was as the previous comment earlier stated was really an Avanti II. Not the original Studebaker version. However it still retains much of the Raymond Lowey design lines. The originals of course are very collectible and very rarely seen outside of auto museums or shows.

I really like the car but I am not sure why anyone would want to drive around a giant penny.
