oh man i know and love this car, and i know and love the matching red toyota pickup with whom it shares a driveway.

i'm quite sure i remember the uncomfortable feeling of standing in this yard with my camera, but the pictures are nowhere to be found. maybe i casually assumed that this was the same car and it had already been posted. who knows?

great snaps. and i miss that neighborhood.

I've been meaning to document it for months, but always figured the driveway was too cramped. Been dreaming of some proper fall documentation, so when I was at the post office and saw the red backdrop, I knew its day had come.

Awesome wheels. Would love to drive, that interior is so roomy.

B20F engine or 1800 cc are both one of the thoghest engines ever made by any car company in modern time, that thing with proper maintenance can easily last 2 million kilometers(1.4 million miles)as most of those still in use as taxi cabs here in alexandria.nice&rare find indeed.well done.

Great car, never knew about these. Thx for the pics, lovely neighborhood indeed. BTW Anyone else think the profile sorta resembles a 2002?

Awesome color cordination in these pics, and those rims make that 142 look frigging sweet.

YAAR! I got the same car in Mustard, with giant round orange cibie foglights on the front. 142's are great 'cos on sunday you can load up the family and go for a cruise, then on monday morning drive like an asshose down country lanes...out here in france. Everybody loves the 142. But i think it looks more like a 510 or a lada than a 2002....
[And just to let you know the 142E is 2L with electronic ignition and has a sporty camshaft. It's the strongest of the 140's]

I had a red '69 142S. Bought it in 1977 with 42000 miles for $1750. GREAT seats. Dashboard by Fisher Price. After a few years EVERY time it went in for servicing it was like $900 each visit and these were 1982 dollars. Finally let it die.

Great photos of a not-so-great Volvo.
I work on Volvos everyday in Portland, but I gave-up on the 140 series eight years ago. A heavy and safe body, propelled by the push-rod motor is not a good combination for today. The 140 did eventually lead to the best car ever made; the Volvo 240. But you can't get a new wiper motor for a 140. They are grandparents, while a Volvo 240 could play like a child.
