When I was little, I was always confused by the rims and tail lights on these, because they looked so much like ones off a VW. This one is crazy nice. I never really realized these were only two doors. I just took some pictures of a wagon 96 yesterday for seattle's parked cars.
I was stuck behind a two-stroke 96 on the track yesterday, yuck! There were about 6 of them @ PIR, and one 95 (wagon). Considering there were no other 99s, I'd say that is an impressive turnout for these rare beasts. Spotting one in the wild is damn near impossible though! There is an unrestored one for sale behind the BringATrailer exhibit.
