I had a '71 bus and it was so much fun. This thing is on the edge as far as the color and the camper top. I'll bet the owner is having a blast nonetheless. Don't drive up hills or carry the band (at least give yourself an extra 3 hours to get to the gig!).
As much as I love the interior configuration, a true swiss army knife... I am ill convinced the over valued price lately in the market, poor acceleration, and having one's legs serve as crumble zones makes the original VW Bus campers worth it. Why can't they make a new one? I would love a TDI Westy. I saw an AWD version from Canada in town recently.
Flabbergasted at pic 2 and 4. What a terrifying view to be staring out of that rear porthole at top speed, I think there's a reason they kept that thing so small.
I bet this is a dream to travel in, or at least be parked in, except that I know how miserably buzzy-wheezy-underpowered that 1.6L is.

Love that top, and the color combo. Pretty sweet conversion.
Great blog; happy I found you!
