The color is called "Brazil Brown." The remote-control side mirrors peg this as a 1979-81 Scirocco. 1978 had a slimmer side mirror, a one-year-only design.
Mk1 Sciroccos are one of the all-time great car designs...perhaps the first "affordable exotic." (I had an '81.)

it's a 1981 model,not 1978
My dad had a piece of crap one in the 80's. It was busted, but fast as hell. He called it the Millennium Falcon.
