The high-intensity of the light in mazda 3 hid lights comes from metallic salts which are vaporized in the light's arc chamber. The light that results is much brighter than normal tungsten bulbs.
So cool- everything about this car. The color, the lights, grille, and the trim all look great. I really dig the boxy profile shot. What a useful and handsome car!
