First year they had the blue oval badge I think. I've always wanted an '80 Escort hatch with the plain grille.
The dash/grille combo indicates 1983, not 1981. And Andrew, the first year for the North American Escort was 1981. I have always wanted the Escort's Mercury equivalent, the Lynx, a 1982 model, 2-door, 4-speed, preferably the base model.
