I've the next model (e32) and I have to say that this older model have a much more elegant nose and tail sections but the dashboard is something from 70s Germany. (Which it is but compared to still modern dashboard in the next model, the difference is huge.)
And if you were thinking a retrofit: No, it won't fit, not even near. :(
Don't know how common the knowledge is of what sets apart an L7 from a 735i, but the "L" is for "Leather". US-market only model with leather *everything*. Headliner, door panels, pillars, dash cover. Pretty rare, actually. My high school art teacher picked up an '87 L6 when I was a senior (1997). Same deal on the 6-series but it also borrowed the front bumper/air dam and spoiler from the M6. What a car...
A little weird to google and find pics of my old car sitting in my driveway. This car went over 300,000 miles with just regular maintenance. I rebuilt the entire suspension on it and it cornered like it was on rails after that. Sadly blew the transmission and I couldn’t work on it anymore.
