sometimes you can allay a suspicious owner's concerns with eye contact, sincerity, and a smile, but not always. the owner of this car was so completely unconvinced by my enthusiasm that I expect he himself did not really care for it. i think he said it had 40,000 miles.

He doens't know how lucky he is. And replacement mirrors are $40 a pair.
