I had one of these! Yes, the side windows (by the back side glass) do swing out. There was a ton of room in the back with the seat folded down. The car ran better at 65-70 than it did at any other speed. I had to get rid of it becase I turned the corner one day, and my front end didn't--it fell out onto the street.
I had one of these too. It had an eggcrate grille, but the color combo was the same. I concur the small windows did fold out. Also, the passenger's door was substantially longer than the driver's. I suppose that was to encourage kids to get out on the curb side. The idea of a short but wide car was a good one.
