five of us were crammed into one car on our way to a lunch meeting at our favorite burger joint when i spotted this. on the way back, i said we should pull over and check it out, and everyone in the car was psyched. chester seriously wanted to buy it, though he couldn't bring himself to tell the lady what he felt it was worth. he's a lifelong surfer and he just kept saying, "man, if i bought that, those seats would be folded down permanently."
If that thing is mechanically sound that seems like a very fair price. I would love to own this. However I am too lazy to drive to Oregon to acquire it.
I work with the guy that bought this car in August of 2011. The engine had been rebuilt 2008 with a new clutch and dual exhauts at that time. He had new tires/brakes/shocks installed right away. Two months later I traded him $1600 and a 58 T-bird that I parked 8 years ago with 60,000 original miles. I have since added a petronix electronic ignition kit to the OEM distributor, a 60's era chrysler alternator conversion and new rear wheel bearings. I drive it 60 miles a day for work and have taken it on several 800+ mile road trips with no problems.
Excellently amazing and exciting too. Can you please mention me the source of your reference... I am happy that at least somebody gave this subject an attention.
THESE ARE INCREDIBLE COMMENTS ESPECIALLY SINCE MY DAD IS CURRENTLY BUILDING 2 CUSTOM 1955 CHEVY NOMAD 1/25TH SCALE BUILDS AS A DRAG AND A JUNKER VERSION... I HAVE MADE OVER 400 VIDEOS AT A MINUTE EACH (DUE TO INSTAGRAM ONLY ALLOWING YOU TO POST A VIDEO OF ONLY 1 MINUTE AT MOST) WHERE MY DAD THOMAS TRAMONTANO TEACHES HIS EXTREME TALENT WHEN IT COMES TO MAKING ACCESSORIES OUT OF SCRA PLASTIC, SOMETIMES STYRENE, AND REALLY JUST THE SIMPLEST THINGS YOU CAN IMAGINE... FOR INSTANCE FOR THE DRAG VERSION HE SHOWS AND TAUGHT HOW TO BUILD A 1/25TH SCALE FIRE EXTINGUISHER OUT OF SCRAP SPREW PLASTIC AND THEN PAINTED IT AND IT NOW IS GLUED IN THE CENTER OF THE INTERIOR BUCKET RIGHT NEXT TO THE RACERS SEAT IN CASE OF EMERGENCY. IT IS ALSO DIRECTLY UNDERNEATH THE ESCAPE HATCH THAT HE ALSO SHOWS HOW TO CREATE AND MAKE IT LOOK TRULY REALISTIC AND AMAZING!
ALSO IN THE JUNKER VERSION HE TEACHES HOW TO CREATE REALISTIC DENTS AND PITTING AND RUST HOLES; IN THE CORRECT PLACES FOR THIS CERTAIN BODY AND YEAR CAR. YES THE TRICK IS MAKING THESE THINGS HANDMADE AND HAVING THE IMAGINATION TO COME UP WITH HOW TO DO THAT, AND ALSO THE SKILL TO PUT THEM TOGETHER AS WELL AS THE PATIENCE... BUT ALSO ANYONE CAN TAKE A FLAME FROM A CANDLE AND HOLD THE RESIN OR PLASTIC BODY OF A 1/25TH SCALE 1955 NOMAD OVER THAT FLAME AND MAKE THE BODY MALLEABLE ENOUGH TO CREATE DENTS WITH A SMALL GLASS JAR OR A QUARTER PUSHING DOWN ON THE HEATED UP PLASTIC, CREATING DENTS... BUT THE TRICK IS CREATING DENTS THAT ARE IN LOCATIONS ON THE CAR THAT ARE REALISTIC TO WHERE THIS 1955 NOMAD NORMALLY WOULD GET DENTS IN THOSE LOCATIONS AND FROM WHAT TYPE OF OBJECTS IF THE END GOAL FOR THE JUNKER VERSION IS TO LOOK LIKE A NOMAD THAT HAS BEEN DRIVEN HARD FOR 35 YEARS BUT NEVER BEEN IN ANY SERIOUS ACCIDENTS AND THAT WILL STILL RUN OK BUT NOT GREAT FOR ANOTHER YEAR TO EVEN 2 AT MOST AND 6 MONTHS AT THE LEAST. SO MAKING THE DENTS NOT LOOK RIDICULOUS BUT MAKING THEM LOOK LIKE THE BUMPER IS SAGGING ON ONE SIDE AND THERE ARE DENTS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WITH ONE MUCH WIDER THAN THE COUPLE OTHERS BUT NOT TOO DEEP, AND ONE TO TWO DENTS ON TOP OF THE ROOF FROM A FALLEN BRANCH ONE YEAR DURING A STORM THAT ALSO CRACKED THE DRIVERS SIDE VENT WINDOW; WHICH HE ALSO CREATED THE VENT WINDOWS BY HAND OUT OF SCRAP CLEAR PLASTIC THAT ALSO LOOKED LIKE THE DOUBLE PANE GLASS THAT WAS USED THAT YEAR AND LOOKED LIKE THE WINDOW CRACKED THE WAY THOSE DO AND ALSO LOOK LIKE THEYRE FOGGED UP, SINCE THAT TYPE OF GLASS WITH AGE WOULD END UP LOOKING THAT WAY AND SOMETIMES LOOK YELLOWED.
ALSO THOMAS ALSO CREATED BY HAND AND TAUGHT THE VIEWERS HOW TO MAKE BY HAND THE SIDE VIEW MIRRORS THAT WERE THE CONE/TORPEDO SHAPED ONES, OUT OF JUST SPARE SPREW PLASTIC AND A LITTLE PIECE OF THIN STYRENE THAT HE PUNCHED OUT OF THE STYRENE SHEET USING A LEATHER BELT HOLE PUNCHER THEN GLUED THE TWO PIECES TOGETHER AND FILED IT A LITTLE MORE THEN GLUED THE SIDE VIEW MIRRORS TO THE BODY! IT LOOKS PERFECT! THIS IS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG WHEN IT COMES TO WHAT THOMAS TRAMONTANO HAS DONE FOR EACH VERSION OF THESE 2 1955 CUSTOMIZED CHEVY NOMAD BUILDS! THIS IS EVEN MORE SO THE TIP OF THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG WHEN IT COMES TO WHAT THOMAS IS CAPABLE OF DESIGNING, CREATING, CUSTOMIZING AND DOING AND WHAT HE HAS DONE IN THE PAST WITH SO MANY DIFFERENT BUILDS! FOR INSTANCE HIS "PONCHCAMINO" WHERE THOMAS TRAMONTANO USED 3 DIFFERENT BODIES; THESES BEING 1962 PONTIAC, CHEVY IMPLALA AND AN ELCAMINO, AS WELL AS USING MANY OF EACH OF THOSE BODYS' KITS' PARTS AND HAND MADE/DESIGNED PARTS AND CUSTOMIZATION'S THAT ALL CAME TOGETHER AS DOD THE THREE BODY'S TO CREATE THE 1962 PONCHCAMINO! Shoulda bought it. Looks like it has the original brake fluid.
That's like the people who collect unopened coke bottles, right?

Sweet, those are some awesome dog dishes, and the interior looks great!
