The grille itself is the high point of 50's styling. Want a great value in classic cars? Try the 4 door Fairlane 500 with the 223 ci I-6. Looks great and saves gas!!!
This was my absolute favorite car that my mom owned. It was my favorite date car. I put it in reverse at high revs and then dropped it into drive and left two perfect J's, what a ball I had and it didn't ruin the tranny. I wish I could have one again! I was 17 then and 68 now.
THis exact '59 Ford Fairlane 500, is actually my car lol, I have been debating on selling her, and decided to search for other ones and how much other people are asking for theirs currently, and I saw the picture and said, oh my goodness that's my Fairlane! lol It's a beautiful car, and if anyone wants her she is for sale! Located in Portland Oregon. =) -Tony

Actually it isn't. It is a 1959 Ford Fairlane 500 4 door sedan.
The Skyliner (produced between 1957-1959) was a convertable hardtop.
duly noted. thanks anon!
